Explore traditional and nontraditional practices of drawing from life (line, value, markmaking, composition, etc.) while working from still life objects, landscapes, and portrait and figure models. Class discussion will illuminate the practice of observational drawing and its relevance in today's world of technological media.

- Sketch Pad (9x12, approximate)
- Optional: Watercolor Paper (Pad/Block), Canson Mi-Teintes Toned Pad (12 x18)

- Charcoal Pencils (Medium, Soft), Charcoal (Vine), Compressed Sticks
- Conte Crayons (Medium, Soft) - Black, White, Sanguine, Brown
- Black India Ink (Bottle)
- Brushes for Ink
