What do you know about Eastern dragons? In what way do they differ from Western dragons? What do they symbolize? Join this course where we will learn about the culture, origins, and art of these mythical creatures while painting them.

Links are provided for examples, supplies do not need to be purchased from these direct links. Oriental Art Supply (OAS) in California is a good source for hard-to find items such as Xuen paper. 

Necessary: 

2" chip brush (such as from Home Depot/Lowe’s) EXAMPLE 

3 different size brushes (S M L) EXAMPLE 

Xuen paper EXAMPLE 

A piece of felt minimum 20”x20" or larger (Super store Walmart or Amazon)  

Small bottle of Sumi-e ink EXAMPLE 

2 palettes one for mixing ink (deep compartments), and one for mixing watercolors EXAMPLE 

Marie's watercolors EXAMPLE 

Dr. Martin's White Bleed Proof Paint EXAMPLE 

 

Optional: 

4 small flat rocks to hold the paper down 

brush rack EXAMPLE 

bamboo brush holder EXAMPLE 

a hair dryer  

water spray bottle 

2 or 3 part water container EXAMPLE
