[BEG] $100

Here's the general supply list for this course. You are invited to work in whatever medium you are most comfortable with.  These are the colors I use, if you don’t have the exact pigment just look the color up online and use something that is close. After completing this course, you'll know your palette like the back of your hand. Just pick your colors and stick with them for the whole class. Think of it like a piano with its 88 keys—they never change. Keep your colors consistent and learn to mix them in endless ways. Adding more colors just gets confusing. Consistency is key!

Paints

  • Cadmium Yellow Light
  • Cadmium Yellow Deep
  • Yellow Ochre
  • Cadmium Orange
  • Perylene Maroon
  • Quinacridone Rose or Permanent Rose
  • Ultramarine Blue
  • Manganese Blue Hue
  • Veridian Green

Supports (Paper/Canvas/Board, etc) - You will want to cut 8 supports for each month’s studies.  If you are painting in watercolor, I recommend cutting a full sheet of paper into 4 pieces (11 x 15) and then cutting those quarter sheets in half.  This will yield 8 pieces of paper roughly 11 X 7.5 which will fit pretty nicely in a 11 x 14” mat. Actually, 10.5 by 7.5 would be perfect.  6 X 8, 8 X 10 or 9 X 12 stretched canvases are inexpensive and readily available. You can work in whatever size you want but work small and always work with the same size support for the duration of the class.

Brushes - You don’t need a ton of brushes!  Once again, bring what you are used to using.

Blow Dryer - For those of you working in watercolor, having a blower dryer on hand to dry your painting between washes can be very helpful.
