This course is for beginning and returning painters who want to acquire fundamental painting skills and new approaches to working with acrylics. Whether picking up a brush for the first time or the hundredth,
students emerge from this course with greater confidence and a renewed passion for painting. Basic drawing skills recommended.

General Supplies:
Note - you can purchase beginner kits for a portion of the price of buying everything separately - so check out your options!
Freezer paper for pallet or large paper pallet - lots of mixing room
pallet knifes – metal only
paper towels
plastic wrap
cans for medium
10 – 16X20, (Suggested size), canvas or board or Primed paper or primed
watercolor paper
masking tape
variety of long handled brushes, no small brushes, #10 and up
Acrylic supplies:
water container
Acrylic retarder is required
Acrylic Matt Medium Liquitex or Golden product
Colors – students grade for new painters:
Cad. Red Medium, Cad. Yellow Medium, Ultramarine Blue and Titanium White –
big tubes. HUES ARE FINE
Other colors to consider: Quinachrodone Magenta, Lemon or Hansa Yellow,
Cerulean Blue
