Dive into watercolor painting and study materials, techniques, color mixing, and compositional planning. Demonstrations, painting exercises, photographs, and still lifes will help illustrate the fundamentals of painting. Advanced students will be challenged to develop more personal images and style.

Materials will be discussed during the first class.
• Set of tube watercolors, at least student-grade
• #8 round brush
• #12 Round brush
• Liner brush
• ¾ Flat brush
• Fan brush
• Scrubber brush
• Watercolor paper in various textures (cold-pressed, hot-pressed, rough).
• Inexpensive sheets or watercolor pads for practice and exercises.
• A mixing palette with ample space for blending and mixing colors.
• Masking fluid
• Soft pencil (HB) for sketching and planning.
• Kneaded or white plastic eraser for lightening or removing pencil lines.
• A spray bottle filled with water for creating various watercolor effects.
• Masking tape
• Hairdryer
