About the Guest Faculty:
http://www.resablatman.com
Resa Blatman is a visual artist who specializes in installations, paintings, and drawings inspired by the natural world. She works with various media and projects, including large-scale, permanent, public art installations for public spaces throughout the U.S. Two recent public projects of note: Denver Health’s new healthcare facility, 2020; Texas A&M University’s Student Services building, 2019. Her paintings are in private and public collections, including Fidelity; Twitter; Hilton Hotel; The WH Ming Hotel, China; United Arab Emirates; Europe. She exhibits her work and presents artist talks at educational and art institutions throughout the U.S. In June 2015, Resa was awarded the Arctic Circle Residency, where she sailed up the west coast of Svalbard, Norway, in the Arctic Circle for two weeks. In August 2018, Resa traveled to Greenland, “We hiked and camped on the largest ice sheet in the northern hemisphere, visited Ilulissat, Disko Island, and the Eqi Glacier; met the Inuit peoples; sat in awe of the towering icebergs drifting nearby and the endless ice fjord; we spent time on tiny boats next to enormous, breaching Humpback whales. It was the most rewarding travel experience of my life.” Resa has an MFA in Painting from Boston University (2006); and a BFA in Graphic Design from MassArt (1995). Her work is represented by Childs Gallery, Boston, where she has an upcoming solo show in May 2021. https://www.instagram.com/resa.blatman/
