This class introduces the basic techniques of observational painting from preparation of materials and color mixing to compositional planning. Students will be able to choose between oils or acrylics. Painting exercises and still lifes will be used to instruct students to the fundamentals of painting. Demonstrations of various techniques and approaches will be shown. Students will be shown examples of important historical and contemporary work. More advanced students will be challenged to develop more personal images and style. [BEG]
