Martha Chiarchiaro
Thu (10/22&10/29) 10:00 AM-11:30 AM
We’ll explore the brilliance of the American artistic glass of John La Farge, Louis Comfort Tiffany, and Dale Chihuly: John La Farge made stained glass windows, mainly for churches on the American east coast, beginning with a large commission for Henry Hobson Richardson’s Trinity in Boston in 1878, and continuing for thirty years. We’ll examine Tiffany’s art nouveau and aesthetic styles through collections such as the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art and the New York Historical Society. Dale Chihuly’s glass artistry continues the brilliance of American creative glass as large-scale blown sculpture. [ALL]
