Thursdays, 1/22-4/2 (No class 2/19 & 2/26), 6:00-9:00 PM

This class will begin with a general overview of the techniques and principles of traditional landscape painting. We will then learn how to effectively use value, color, and composition to explore the emotional atmosphere of a setting. [BEG]

Required materials: 

• Paints of choice. Oil, acrylic, gouache, and/or watercolor. (Required colors regardless of medium: Blue, red, yellow, white.)
• If you’re working with oil, Gamsol, and Linseed oil.
• Glass or metal cups for stirring.
• A variety of brushes. Round and flat brushes.
• Surface to paint on. Canvas panels, canvases, wood boards, and canvas paper are all great.
• Palette paper or palette.
• Reference material. Personal photos, either physical or on personal screen.
• Sketchbook and drawing materials of choice. 

Nice to have: 

• Painter's tape
• Gesso (Required if you're working on wood)
• Rag or paper towels.
• Easel (tripod or table)
