Further inform your practice  with discussions on styles of classical landscape painting and how classic Chinese artists addressed this topic.

Links are provided for examples; supplies do not need to be purchased from these direct links. Oriental Art Supply (OAS) in California is a good source for hard-to-find items such as Xuen paper.

Necessary:

• 2" chip brush (such as from Home Depot/Lowe’s) EXAMPLE
• 3 different size brushes (S M L) EXAMPLE
• Xuen paper EXAMPLE
• A piece of felt minimum 20”x20" or larger (Super store Walmart or Amazon)
• Small bottle of Sumi-e ink EXAMPLE
• 2 palettes one for mixing ink (deep compartments), and one for mixing watercolors EXAMPLE
• Marie's watercolors EXAMPLE
• Dr. Martin's White Bleed Proof Paint EXAMPLE

Optional:

• 4 small flat rocks to hold the paper down
• brush rack EXAMPLE
• bamboo brush holder EXAMPLE
• a hair dryer
• water spray bottle
• 2- or 3-part water container EXAMPLE
