Martha Chiarchiaro
Online Lecture Series
Thu, 2/6 - 2/13 10AM-11:30PM
Paul Durand-Ruel was a late 19th-century, French art dealer whose early support of the Impressionists, particularly Monet and Renoir, contributed to the eventual success of Impressionism. Not only did Durand-Ruel buy works from the Impressionists before there was a market for them, he established galleries in London, New York, and Berlin in his never-flagging conviction that the public would grow to appreciate this new art movement. We’ll explore the trials and triumphs of Durand-Ruel in his support of the Impressionists.
Zoom links will be sent out approximately 24 hours before the first session begins. If you are unable to attend the Zoom session live, a recording of the lecture will be made available to you via email shortly after the meeting concludes if you have registered for this session.
