Acquire new tips and tricks for painting in your choice of acrylics or oils. Through still lifes and landscapes, students will learn palette use, color mixing, brush techniques, color theory, composition, value, and chroma. Open to new and continuing students.

Student Supply List (pick Acrylic or Oil)

  • Acrylic:
    • pallet knife paper towels
    • large paper pallet
    • plastic wrap
    • water container – 1⁄2 gal. suggested
    • tuna/fish/other cans for medium
      8 – 16X20, (Suggested size), canvas or board or Primed paper or watercolor paper
    • masking tape
    • variety of brushes, no small brushes, #10 and up
    • Acrylic retarder, (a must have) and Acrylic Matt Medium

  • Oil Painting:
    • Bring #10 size brushes & larger no small brushes
    • large paper pallet
    • paper towels pallet knife masking tape
    • plastic wrap
    • paint cups
    • Canvas, or canvas board or primed loose canvas, same as above.
    • Oil Painting Medium I use: 1) Artist’s professional grade Walnut Alkyd Medium or Gamblin's Solvent-Free Gel or liquid
    • glass jar with Safflower oil ONLY in it. (can be cooking oil)
    • NO Solvents or premixed oil painting mediums allowed.
    • Needed colors: Cadmium red medium Cadmium yellow medium Ultramarine blue Titanium white 
      You can use others if you wish
