With the first formal exhibition of Japanese woodblock prints at the 1867 Paris Exposition, Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists became inspired by the elongated pictorial formats, asymmetry, aerial perspective, abstract elements of color and line, and focus on decorative motifs. Explore the Japonisme 
work of Whistler, Tissot, Monet, Degas, Cassatt, Gauguin, Lautrec, Bonnard, Vuillard, and Hassam.
