24AWPNT420 - Structure in Painting

Randy LeSage

2/7—3/27, 7-weeks, 10 AM-1 PM (No class 2/21)

Deepen your recognition and practice of the building blocks of creative painting with a focus on composition and structure, and learn to put "all the pieces together". Starting with Cezanne's "modern primitive classicism", we will utilize concepts from classical rendering to improvisational rhythm. Other artists, including Bearden, Mondrian, and McKenzie, will provide background and inspiration as you work out your compositions from still life objects, the figure, landscape and the imagination in your choice of painting media. $200
