Using an art journaling book of your choice, this course explores an independent, creative art form that provides joy along the way! Art journaling is used for self-expression, stress reduction, and a place to 
experiment with new art materials. $255

Week 1: Make the First Mark

Week 2: Finding Your Style/Voice – Exercise: Letting Go

Week 3: Be Kind to Yourself

Week 4: Finding Your Inspiration

Week 5: Self-Care Portrait

Week 6: Express Your Feelings – Feelings and Color – Feelings and Collage

Week 7: Let Go of Perfectionism

Week 8: Your Own Flower Garden

Week 9: Identifying Your Feelings

Week 10: Combining Words and Images

Recommended Materials 

  • Paints: Any water base paints (either/or acrylic, acrylic fluids, watercolors, gouache)
  • Brushes: round and flat
  • Palette knife
  • Gesso: either white, black or clear (your choice)
  • Matt or gloss medium
  • Adhesive
  • Ink: Black and or any colors
  • Collage materials – any prepared papers, decorative papers, magazine images
  • Dry Materials: graphite pencils, charcoal, colored pencils, oil pastels, chalk or dry pastels, Black marker, colored markers (We will go over this part first class)
  • JOURNAL Book: This can be any size or style. Hardbound or spiral
    • You may even decide on a small one and large one
