23AWMXD120 - Subversive Needlework Group for Teens and Adults

Liz Ives

Every Wednesday

1/25–4/26, 6–8PM

No Class 2/22 & 4/19

Everyone is welcome in this drop-in meet-up! Needlework (and much of textile art) is often seen as domestic, peaceful, 'women’s' work. We will discuss the ways needlework and textile arts can be used to subvert traditional ideas and address larger social issues. Bring your personal needlework projects and discuss your projects and get help as needed. New to embroidery and other needlework? The instructor will walk you through a starter project to get you going. We will even provide a materials list for a first project to help you get going, but what the project is will depend on you! $FREE!
