Explore pastels by working with a variety of toned papers and subjects, including a portrait model for two weeks. Experiment as you become comfortable with this rich medium. Continuing students welcome, model fee included. $295

Supplies: 

List of Materials for First Pastel Class

  • 18” x 24” piece of grey Canson MiTientes pastel paper
  • 18” x 24” piece of white Canson MiTientes pastel paper
  •  Pack of three sticks of medium vine charcoal 
  • 18” x 24” drawing board padded with 12 sheets of 18” x 24” newsprint drawing paper
  • Clips to hold both padding and your pastel paper
  • 3 sticks of Rembrandt soft pastels:  grey, black, and whit
  • Bring stiff nylon or bristle brushes for scrubbing out and a soft (makeup or watercolor) brush for delicate pastel removal
