Each workshop is $20, or you can register for the entire week and save $25.00!

Workshop Descriptions:

  • City Planner - How would your perfect city look? Parks, theaters, playgrounds, museums? In this workshop, design and build a version of your ideal city on a tiny scale.

  • Codes and Secrets - Do you like secret messages? Make a bracelet or keychain and a painted artwork with your own secret coded message.

  • Designed for Speed - Search for different modes of transportation in the galleries, then design and build your own futuristic vehicle that really moves.

  • Everything Shiny - Use metal foil, sculpture wire, metallic paint, and mixed media to make a bright, shiny artwork inspired by technology and contemporary art!

  • Future Fashion - With, fabric, metal foil, recovered plastics, and 3Doodler pens, design your own futuristic wearable look– sporty, warrior, librarian, or other– you choose!

  • Nano Portraits - Small isn’t new! With inspiration from miniature portraits in the Museum’s collection, create your own nano-sized self-portraits with a frame you design and print yourself!

  • Playing with Art - Inspired by our Modern gallery and the book Press Here by Herve Tulle, create your own interactive art storybook!

  • Robo-Creature - After viewing animals from throughout the Museum, design your perfect Robo-creature from clay, found objects, and more!

  • Time Capsule - Make your very own time capsule and a drawing to place inside. Add trinkets and photos when you get home and seal it up, then open it in a few years for a message from yourself!

  • To the Moon - Imagine what living on the Moon might be like in 200 years and make a mini-comic about lunar adventure!

  • Painting at Light Speed - Have you ever painted with light? Using special materials, create a glowing light installation that you can display almost anywhere!


To register for the full week, on the top listing that costs $175.00, enter the number of students you are registering for the weeks’ worth of workshops in the quantity field.  Then scroll to the bottom and click Register.

To register for individual workshops. Below the top listing, click the ink that says Show Individual Events. In each workshop you want to register a child for, enter the number of students you are registering in the quantity fields.  Then scroll to the bottom and click Register.


PLEASE NOTE: All individuals entering the Museum are required to wear a face mask.

Construction work will be occurring in the Higgins Education Wing as the windows and skylights in the wing are being replaced. If there will be any effect on your class, such as a change in studio, we will let you know ASAP.
