22ASPNT320 - OFFSITE Landscape Painting

George Hancin

Celebrate Worcester’s 300th anniversary by capturing fresh interpretations of the landscapes of local parks.  You will develop your own imagery in the painting medium of your choice. Demonstration of atmospheric and linear perspective, and discussion of important painting examples will inform your work.  Your instructor will help you find a motif, develop a composition, create an underpainting, build texture, and refine color. You can expect to have two to three well-established paintings by the end of class.

Student Supplies: Wear comfortable outdoor clothing and shoes, and bring the painting media of your choice, including ground (canvas, paper, etc.). A camp stool and easel may make it more comfortable for you to work. Sunscreen and a water bottle recommended.
