Martha Chiarchiaro

Piero di Cosimo was a prominent Renaissance painter in Florence. We’ll explore his portraits and mythological paintings commissioned by the elite of Florence, as well as his role as the teacher of Andrea del Sarto who became the lead painter of Florence after the departure of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. We’ll examine in depth two stellar paintings by these two artists at the Worcester Art Museum.
