Shibori is a Japanese form of tie-dying that creates complex patterns and pictures. Students will work with pleating and clamped shibori (Itajime), stitched shibori (Nui), and small objects (Kumo) to create several sample pieces of fabric that they can use for future textile classes at WAM or with their own projects. We will finish with one larger piece that may use several shibori techniques. See online for more information.
