Draw a portrait model from direct observation each week. Using charcoal as our primary drawing material, explore a variety of techniques to gain expressive and realistic drawing skills. Experimentation with other materials is also welcome. 

Student Supplies

Unless otherwise notified, please bring a sketchbook, pencil, your preferred charcoal variety, a kneaded eraser, vinyl eraser, and any other supplies you may want to bring to the first class. Your instructor will review supplies.

Construction work will be occurring in the Higgins Education Wing as the windows and skylights in the wing are being replaced. If there will be any effect on your class, such as a change in studio, we will let you know ASAP.
