Explore working with colored pencils and pastels while learning the basics of space, perspective, color theory, and layering. Create realistic or abstract flower studies, landscapes, still lives, and human and/or animal portraits. Model fee included for a clothed model for the last two weeks. Teens 16+years welcome.

Student Supplies

Lightly colored and /or white: mixed media drawing paper,  or pad : 60 lb - 80 lb. paper. 

Graphite pencil 2h,  also 2b, and 4b pencils. 

Prisma color pencils 24. and / or Oil pastels pack of 24. Water color pencils and # 4 brush : optional.

Kneaded eraser, pencil sharpener, blending stump.

 

Other details of the supplies will be provided 15 days before start of the course.

Construction work will be occurring in the Higgins Education Wing as the windows and skylights in the wing are being replaced. If there will be any effect on your class, such as a change in studio, we will let you know ASAP.
